AUSTRALIAN MARINE ENGINEERING COMPANY MAKES THE SWITCH TO BELZONA 7111
One of Australia’s leading marine engineering companies recently switched from a leading brand of chocking compound to Belzona 7111, allowing them to increase their efficiency for marine-related repairs within this demanding sector. The company had used their previous brand of choice for many years and had never considered changing as the product had performed well on many applications in the marine industry.
Rezitech, the exclusive distributor for Belzona in Australia for over 48 years had approached the marine engineering company about using Belzona as a possible alternative chocking solution, the company was familiar with the quality and performance of the Belzona series of products as they had used them on various projects before, however, even though the product had the relevant approvals they felt at that juncture there was no need to change.
Belzona 7111 is a pourable chocking, backing and levelling system that has been designed to withstand the harsh physical and thermal shock of Marine and Industrial environments. The system is ideal for pouring foundations, shimming or chocking heavy propulsion systems and other types of large industrial equipment.
Rezitech approached the company once more to highlight the improved capabilities and effectiveness over their current chocking compound and offered them a trial to enable them to compare both products. The timing of the approach was ideal as the company had just been commissioned for a chocking application and duly accepted the trial.
For the project, Belzona 7111 was used to install cutlass bearings for the propeller shafts of a catamaran, upon completion the customer was very pleased with the outcome and ease of use.

Although Belzona 7111 is primarily used in the marine sector it can also be used for applications in the mining, power, construction and manufacturing industries when alignment, heavy loading and vibrations are a concern.
